Flying Mammoths Landscape Design LLC is a Vermont based, woman owned ecological Landscape Design Company that specializes in designing with native and edible plants.

We see the challenges in your landscape as opportunities and see you, your landscape and its’ qualities as uniquely individual. With everything we do, we try to obscure the distance between nature and the built environment. Our goal is to carefully listen to your visions so that you can turn your dreams into reality. By giving attention to your requests, natural systems, built structures, and future use, we formulate a well thought-out approach to make your design work for you. Appreciating the connection between nature and home, we try to blur the lines between the two to create an individualized sanctuary.

Design Consultation

A landscape design consultation consists of walking your land with you while you ask questions. Sometimes you just need an objective eye to see your landscape. During this time, guidance and suggestions will be offered to get you closer to your goals, observations can be discussed as well as next steps that will move you forward. This can be a one-time event or on an as needed basis.

Site Planning

There may be a specific area of your landscape that you want to address further. It could be a challenging area and/or an area that you would like to develop to be able to utilize more. Site planning can focus on these precise areas and come up with a plan that suits the landscape and fits your needs and lifestyle.

Phased Implementation Plan

An implementation plan gives you a landscapedesign plan that defines and maps out goals for your land over a pre-determined time period. It enables you to establish goals to be implemented over the course of months or years and takes the guesswork out of the schedule of operations. This allows you to work with the landscape by starting with the most important things first. These could be buildings, hard-scaping such as stone walls, garden and orchard establishment, grading, tree planting, digging ponds, or establishing roads and paths. As the site evolves, the overall design can be adjusted accordingly to continually meet your needs.

Master Planning

Master Planning provides a clear framework for your design that focuses your dreams into becoming a reality. Those looking to obtain a master plan are thinking about the intentional land-use of their property. Whether you desire a plan for beauty and inspiration, a working, functional landscape, attracting wildlife, food gardens, or incorporating your business onto your site, a master plan can address any and all of these concerns. A master plan is created after doing thorough site analysis and conferring with the client as to what their vision may be, and then addressing the best options for current and future needs. Master plans are a tool to give focus, timelines, and implementation schedules for the work to be done.
