Passive Solar House Siting/Homestead - Massachusetts

This land had an existing older home when the land was purchased. Anticipating their daughter and her family moving onto the land, these clients wanted to site a passive solar home with extensive vegetable gardens, fruit trees scattered across the homestead, a wildflower meadow, and easy access between both houses. They were also anticipating that this would be the home where they would age in place, thus needing easy, level access to the gardens. Extensive site analysis was performed to choose the best place for the new house and gardens, enabling the most optimum solar access and creating a flowing aesthetic.
