Seasonal Stream Enhancement - Waterford, VT

The run-off from an existing seasonal stream was depositing sediment in the streambed, and creating unwanted pooling. The area is right on the edge of a forest, and after clearing back some of the trees that cast shade onto the stream, a design was created to have the water flow through the streambed without pooling, also compensating for a heavy rain flow by creating check dams and water diversions to stop erosion and sediment build-up. A planting plan was then created using native woodland plants to add beauty to an area that had before been an afterthought.
